The Costa Rican indigenous community involved in the SFC GCRF funded research; ‘Rey Curré’ has been hit by flooding. Although it is too early to tell the extent of the damage, combined with the current COVID-19 health and economic situation in addition to climate change, this will emphasise the urgency in supporting the communities involved to build resilience and increase their capacities.

The project wishes to express its solidarity from the University of St Andrews. We take this moment to reflect on the role of community-based museums play within supporting communities that are in crisis. Researchers will continue to demonstrate through our research and collective action how through relationships with local leaders, we can work together to overcome difficulties and strengthen resilience.
